I'd need to go eyes on before I really make up my mind, but the concept is compelling to me. And given the single-set-of-eyes on handhelds, it's a good application for glasses free 3D tech. Consider me intrigued.
Here's a full press shot.

I was a bit skeptical at first of the Nintendo 3DS, but after hearing all the online chatter and reading the liveblog, I'm stoked.

I really want to see a video of it in action, although of course it won't be the same as seeing it in person.
Other than merely an excuse to buy a new game system (which I always love) I'm really digging that this console does not require glasses. That's the best part in my mind. Not to mention there's a reboot of Kid Icarus.
Without experiencing it in person, what do y'all think? Going to get one? For me, it depends largely on price and the real experience. If I'm blown away, I'm sure the plastic will get swiped...

Having watched a few videos and read a little more, it looks like a powerful device. I found that one of the issues was that you have to be in the viewing "sweet spot" or else the 3D effects go away, which seems to be a common problem with that type of display. It will be interesting to see it in person.
Get this, Nintendo is remaking Zelda Ocarina of Time in 3D for the 3DS. I have to admit, that may be enough to put me over the edge... maybe.
There's also some other pretty killer looking titles on the way. A new Mario Kart, Super Street Fighter IV, Kingdom Hearts, a new Paper Mario, and a new PilotWings.
Does that change anyone's mind?
For me, Pilotwings is the kicker. I was infatuated with the game when it was first released and played it for countless hours. Of course, I've always loved things that fly. To this day, I can pick up and rock the bonus stages like it was 1991. I was especially proud of my skydiving skills.
I love the idea of this device and the fact that they are pulling it off without the need for glasses. I have a feeling that this will be a huge seller. Now only if they could do the same for TVs!
@Ron - my thoughts exactly. Glasses are really my only issue with the concept of 3D television and gaming, and the 3DS takes that issue away. As such, I'm really excited about it. Alas, I think it will be some time before it's an affordable and effective solution for the big screen, but I can't wait for that day. Perhaps it will come sooner than we think!
