I'm not sure a single game would be enough to drive shoppers to stores to buy a 3DTV, shy of one or two crazed Yankee fans. Now, if we could get 5 or 10 games per year for every team, plus the playoffs and World Series... baseball would be a pretty big draw to get 3D capability here in the early stages.
I was actually just thinking about some of the new cool angles 3D would be great for:
I'm thinking "Catcher's cam" facing the pitcher so you can really feel what it's like to be a catcher in the majors. The depth would be pretty cool for seeing balls and strikes, too.
A home run cam would be neat to get a sense of depth when a ball is hit out of the park.
Fan cam 2.0 - Hot summer days, girls... never mind. My mind is wandering again.
Apparently, DirecTV is making arrangements to beam the Yankees vs. Mariners game on July 10th and 11th, 2010, to all of its customers with 3DTV enabled sets.
I'm not a sports fan myself, but I know of a lot of people who would be very interested in this. Is this enough to push you over the edge and get a 3D enabled set?

Summer fan cam is by far the best idea so far.
Seriously, though, I think this will be a great way to utilize 3D. Rather than distracting from the experience, I can see sports really being enhanced... as long as it's used in the right way. For example, the catcher cam concept - cool.
In some sports, it could make watching it on TV much better. I really see it benefiting hockey, particularly if it makes it easier to see the puck.
