Seems to me that we will all pay a bit of premium in the early days for 3D games or video content. I don't think I'd spend extra for a 3D-ready iPad but if I already owned compatible glasses and I could choose 2D or 3D gameplay, it would be worth a few extra bones.
Unlike movies or TV shows that wear thin after multiple viewings, video games can provide ongoing enjoyment for a looong time. If there was content that was going to lead this 3D revolution, gaming would be a no-brainer.
I hadn't thought about other applications like the Elements one you mentioned as being part of the 3D experience. Will check it out, is it expensive or, more specifically, more expensive than its 2D version?
I've been playing a lot of "casual" games on my iPad... the large (awesome) screen is perfect for gaming and is intuitive and fun. There's an app called "The Elements" that is not a game, but rather an educational tool giving a tour of the periodic table. There's a 3D option where you can browse the photos and media in 3D (with glasses, of course.)
This leads me to wonder if there is a market for 3D gaming on the iPad. There's quite a few racing games, first person shooters, puzzle games, and so on that would definitely benefit from a 3D interpretation.
Would you play 3D games on your iPad? Would you pay extra for them?
