I think I'm going to buy a 3D TV very soon.  I am looking at the Samsung UN55C700 3D LED TV, but am intrigued by the concept of 3D projectors too.  Are there any even available yet?  Has anyone heard?

I seem to remember back at CES in January that many of the projector folks like Optoma were keeping step with the TV manufacturers. I would expect that you could already find a decent crop to chose from.

The Editor has started a list here on this page (click on Projectors on the right). It currently lists a few projectors, all from ViewSonic although some of them are tagged as only "3D-Ready".

Speaking of projectors - I'm wondering if they "need" a special screen to function properly. I'm certain that they would be able to project on any fairly smooth and clear surface, but am curious if "special" screens are available to enhance the experience.

All these tinny details are made with lot of background knowledge. I like it a lot. This was a useful post and I think it is rather easy to see from the other comments as well that this post is well written and useful.Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real effort to make a good article... but what can I say...
