Peter Gabriel Coming to 3D Theaters
Back in April, we told you that 3D cameras had captured Peter Gabriel in concert at London's Hammersmith Apollo. Now, the concert film appears to have a release date.
NCM Fathom, Omniverse Vision, Eagle Rock Entertainment and Real World made the joint announcement, saying that "Peter Gabriel: New Blood Live in London 3D" will have an exclusive 2-night engagement at 135 select theaters around the country.
Get ready to mark your calendar. The film will make its theatrical debut on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, with one follow-up viewing on Monday, September 12.

Even if you've seen Gabriel in concert before, this should be a pretty unique experience -- and not because of the 3D. Gabriel performed alongside the 46-piece New Blood Orchestra, for "re-imagined orchestral arrangements" of his songs. Some of the tracks to be featured include "Don't Give Up," "Downside Up," "Mercy Street," "The Rhythm of the Heat," "In Your Eyes," "Solsbury Hill" and "San Jacinto."
"Peter Gabriel: New Blood Live in London 3D" was pre-recorded at London's iconic Hammersmith Apollo on March 23, 2011. If you're interested in catching the show in theaters, you can find a venue and pre-order tickets on the NCM Fathom website.
Gabriel's ninth studio album, "New Blood," will be released on October 10, 2011. A 2D Blu-ray of the concert will be released shortly after on October 24.
