Peter Gabriel's 'New Blood' Coming in 3D
When Peter Gabriel performed last month at London's Hammersmith Apollo, there was a little something special in the audience: 3D cameras.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Gabriel has been working with Eagle Rock Entertainment on a theatrical release titled "New Blood 3D." The film will feature concert footage from that late March performance. It's doubtful, but I can only hope that he busted out the giant flower costume (see right).
"I have long been fascinated by the potential of 3D to go beyond the gimmicks and immerse people in an experience," said Gabriel. "We had our first 3D filming experiments in the '80s, but at that time there was no audience or place to show them."
Eagle Rock plans to distribute "New Blood 3D" later this year, across 3D TV, theatrical, digital, DVD and Blu-ray platforms.
