Categories: Predictions and Rumors
If the reports are accurate it means that even a technology giant like Apple, Inc. isn’t immune to the swell of 3D interest.
Multiple reports from sources that include the Japanese blog Kanteidan and the web sites Digital Trends.com and BoyGeniusReport.com indicate the next-generation iPod Touch could include glasses-free 3D to support gaming activities.
In its story, Digital Trends says that back in 2006 Apple was awarded a glasses-free 3D patent, and according to the report, Apple’s engineers created a way for its technology to locate and trace a user’s eyes and then use the eye position to produce a 3D image on a textured screen.
Digital Trends further speculates the release of a 3D-enabled iPod Touch could provide the Nintendo 3DS with some competition in the hand-held 3D gaming market.
