It sounds like we've formed a partnership, but Samsung's new Explore 3D app is all their own. However, it's certainly something to get excited about -- assuming you have a Samsung 3D TV.

First announced this summer, the Explore 3D app is available for free through the Samsung Apps store. The app allows viewers to check out new streaming 3D content. Currently, there are movie trailers for 3D flicks such as Shrek Forever After, Megamind, and How to Train Your Dragon.

Samsung has plans for additional 3D content, although nothing has been formally announced. Of course, the real hook is that the Explore 3D app can provide 3D content, without the need for a Blu-ray 3D player or other external device.
