This is one of those situation when innovation seems to have trumped need. It reminds me of the Vitualboy from Nintendo. I can't figure out how you would even operate your phone with the slide on device, not to mention that slide on covers of any sort run the risk of cracking the rear plastic on the IPhone 4.

It seems like there is literally an app for everything and now according to reports from multiple sources, including the Associated Press (AP), Hasbro is preparing to release a 3D solution for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch.
AP says the toy maker will introduce its My3D device sometime this week and it's designed to provide Apple portable device owners with stereoscopic 3D gaming options. According to the news agency, the add-on device may snap on to an iPhone/iPod Touch to cover the screen, and the report estimates that the product will not work with existing iPhone/iPod Touch games.
To further support the product release, AP says that Hasbro is teaming up with Dreamworks for video content; partnering with the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau for tourism apps, and it's going to promote, "shooter games in a virtual galaxy" as part of the release of the product, which is expected to sell for about $30.

It does have a bit of that Virtual Boy look, doesn't it? (I say as I glance at the Virtual Boy on the top of my bookcase.)

You do bring up a great question, though. How on earth are you supposed to play a game if the screen is covered by this thing? At least the Virtual Boy had a controller.
