Com'on Cameron...Now your a salesman for Panasonic? Haven't you made enough money? Damn, now in order for someone to buy Avatar who owns another 3d-technology other than Panasonic they'll have to go on ebay and pay over $100 to get it! Unfair!
Avatar 3D Blu-ray an Exclusive for Panasonic
Those waiting for a 3D version of the "Avatar" Blu-ray shouldn't have to wait too much longer. According to Twice, the biggest movie of all time will finally come to 3D Blu-ray this December.
Don't get too excited, though; the release will be an exclusive to Panasonic. The manufacturer just announced another leg in its partnership with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, which will give that specific privilege to Panasonic customers for an undetermined time.
This is not the first time that Panasonic has hosted an "Avatar"-related promotion. The company previously offered a $25 rebate with the purchase of the 2D Blu-ray release and a Panasonic Blu-ray player.
How can you be one of the few to get the 3D Blu-ray of "Avatar?" The details of the upcoming deal have yet to be announced. However, it sounds like the 3D Blu-ray will somehow be connected to the purchase of a Panasonic 3D VIERA plasma TV.

I totally +1 you.
A 3D version of Avatar on Blu-Ray in general release would do a lot to help 3D in general. Locking down as a bonus to those who buy Panasonic's TVs is great for Panasonic and those initially shopping for 3DTVs, but is another stab in the chest for those who've already made 3D investments and are STILL waiting for content.
OK, the phrase "asking for it" really pops into mind here...
Honestly, have ALL of Fox's industry analysts missed the obvious impact this will have?
Let there be no question about it: whatever great strides a 3D Avatar general release would have made for 3D blu-ray SALES, an exclusive release will make for 3D blu-ray PIRACY.
Getting past the technology requirements for 3DTV may make piracy difficult, but as with 2DBD and DVD before it, someone is eventually going to figure it out - and this is just giving them even greater incentive to do so.
I have the good fortune of having Direct TV as my viewing source. What little 3d programing they provide is better than most others. I had just told a friend that questioned me about 3d content that "just wait until Avatar is available, it will make a big difference".....I stand corrected!! Really dumb move
