Last Airbender Getting 3D Conversion

M. Night Shyamalan hasn't exactly set Hollywood on fire with his past few releases, which includes Lady in the Water and The Village. Now it looks like he's trying to distract you from what could be the next The Happening, by making The Last Airbender into 3D.

OK -- it's not fair to say this movie will be crap. So why exactly are they trying to crap it up with a 3D conversion?

Deadline says that Paramount Pictures will use Stereo D, the same people that worked on Avatar. However, it also sounds like they are putting a rush on it. The Last Airbender is scheduled to hit theaters (3D ones) on July 2, 2010. Check out the trailer below.
