Saw 3D Review Roundup

All of that marketing seems to have paid off. Despite garnering a 9 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, "Saw 3D" still took the top spot last week at the box office. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it was Halloween weekend.

"The Last Airbender" still takes the (spoiled) cake, as the worst reviewed 3D movie, with a measley 6 percent. However, "Saw 3D" now ties "My Soul to Take" on the Rotten Tomatoes scale -- although "Saw" certainly wins when it comes to box-office receipts. Let's take a closer peek at the movie...

Here is what Lionsgate says:

As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror...

The first theatrical feature to be shot exclusively on the cutting-edge SI-3D digital camera system, SAW 3D brings the horrifying games of Jigsaw to life like never before. The film stars Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, with Sean Patrick Flanery, and Cary Elwes.

Here is what reviewers say:

"The 3D is barely-there, the clanging machine-rock soundtrack is merciless, and the traps are decidedly ho-hum. Even running its final lap, Saw still oozes mediocrity." - Total Film

"I passed on the special Saw 3D glasses. That was my first mistake. Maybe the special Saw 3D glasses filtered out the suckiness." - Willie Waffle, WaffleMovies.com

"Saw 3D is the dumbest and most illogical entry in the Saw series -- quite an accomplishment, given that the Saw movies are the dumbest, most illogical series of horror films of the millennium." - Adam Graham, Detroit News
