5 Reasons Why You Should See Piranha 3-D
When we first reported about this summer's 3D movie lineup, it was hard to believe that Piranha 3-D was on the list. We had to wonder what the thought process was there.
Do studios want audiences to like 3D? Or do they just think we are gullible enough to watch anything that pops out of the screen with pretty colors?
Well, we stand corrected. The trailer for Piranha 3-D is popping up all over the web (as well as right below), and it's well... downright creepy! Here are five other reasons we want to dive into this fishy tale:
- True, the whole "Earth opens up, exposes the bowels of Hell" plot is a bit overused. However, we think this might be the first time that it's exposed Satan's fishbowl -- and those critters are downright evil looking!
- It's extremely easy to reboot our childhood Jaws fears. The filmmakers even threw in Richard Dreyfuss for good measure.
- Elisabeth Shue is sending out some serious Marge Gunderson vibes in the clip. Maybe it's the uniform.
- Is Christopher Llloyd reviving Doc Brown for his role? Hopefully his plutonium stash and 1.21 gigawatts will save him from the beasts.
- Snotty, scantily clad teens getting eaten alive = box office gold.
Take a look below and let us know what you think. Piranha 3-D will be chomping its way into 3D theaters on August 27, 2010.
